Registration of Suppliers


Importers or manufacturers of any of registrable goods listed here, with the intention of supplying them in the Singapore market, must register themselves with NEA.

Parties that Need to Apply for Registration

Importer
Importers who import registrable goods that are meant for Singapore are required to apply for registration with NEA. No registration is required if the appliances are meant for export only.

Parallel Importer
Parallel importers who import registrable goods that are meant for Singapore are required to apply for registration with NEA, regardless of the brand and model of registrable goods.

Retailer
Retailers are required to apply for registration if they import the registrable goods themselves.

Manufacturer
Manufacturers in Singapore who supply the registrable goods to the local market are required to apply for registration.

New Distributor
If the distributorship of an existing registered model is taken over from a registered supplier, the company that takes over the distributorship is required to apply for registration.

The new distributor need not re-register the registered models if the previous supplier has given him consent in the form of a letter of authorization to use the registered models' test reports.


How to Register

Application for registration shall be made in person at NEA's Customer Service Centre located on the 2nd storey of the Environment Building on 40 Scotts Road. The Centre's operating hours are Mon to Fri, 8.30am to 5.30pm and Sat, 8.30am to 1.00pm.

The following documents are required for registration:

  • Completed registration form
  • Original and photocopy of the NRIC belonging to the person submitting the application

The application must also be accompanied by the registration fee.

Registered Supplier ID

The applicant will be notified of the outcome of the registration via email within 3 working days. If the registration is successful, a Registered Supplier ID will be included in the email. The Registered Supplier ID is required for the registration of appliance models. The name and particulars of the registered supplier will then be entered into the register of registered suppliers maintained by NEA.

Change in Particulars Not Involving Change of Business Registration Number

Registered suppliers are required to notify NEA of any changes to their companies business registration details such as company name, address and telephone number not less than 14 days before the change.

Change in Business Registration Number

If there is a change in the business registration number, the registered supplier is required to re-register with NEA. Please refer to the section on How to Register.
