HVAC Energy Efficiency: Challenges and Opportunities –How to approach to realizing potential

Participants at HVAC workshop

The HVAC Energy Efficiency technical workshop titled “Challenges and Opportunities – How to approach to realizing potential” was organized, together with Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), on the 10th and 11th Nov 2009. Mr Thomas Hartman and Mr Lee Eng Lock were engaged to conduct the workshop. At the workshop, trainers shared case studies with information on best practices and pitfalls in the operation of HVAC systems. The workshop included breakout-cum-consultation sessions and a site visit to Ascendas' Galen industrial building.

Date: 10 to 11 November 2009
Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Venue: Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, 11 Cavenagh Road, 229616 Singapore

At the workshop, participants learnt about the design philosophy of ultra-efficient HVAC system and the Equal Marginal Performance Principle . Among the topics covered were the optimization of energy for both water and air side performance areas, and the measurement and monitoring of system efficiency of HVAC systems to an accuracy of ± 5% for detailed analysis.
