Energy Smart Retail Mall launch-cum-Seminar

SPS at Energy Smart Seminar

The National Environment Agency (NEA) and the Energy Sustainability Unit (ESU) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) jointly organised a Seminar on Energy Smart Retail Malls on 27 Mar 09 at the Holiday Inn Park View Singapore.

The guest-of-honour for the event, Dr Amy Khor, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, launched the Energy Smart Retail Mall label at the event.

The Energy Smart Retail Mall label is an extension of the Energy Smart Building Labelling Scheme, which aims to promote energy efficiency and conservation in the buildings sector by according recognition to energy efficient buildings.

At this seminar, participants were exposed to a variety of insights, including:

  • potential energy savings with proper design and good management of a retail mall;
  • identification of energy saving opportunities in retail malls by conducting energy audits; and
  • implementation of energy saving measures
